At Futures, we are working every day to support our teachers and administrators in doing the wonderful job they are doing in educating Volusia County students. Did you know that there are small ways you can help FUTURES too?
1. Sign up for License for Learning! The money used to purchase or renew your tag ($20 of your purchase) comes directly back to FUTURES and enables us to provide funding directly to classrooms for mentoring and tutoring, classroom innovation, curriculum enrichment and student scholarships.
for more information!
2. If you are a District employee, consider payroll deduction! Every gift through payroll deduction helps FUTURES to reach its goals in the areas of mini-grants and other areas of classroom support. You can even make a one-time donation (provided directly to FUTURES). A gift of $1, $2, or $5 per paycheck truly makes a difference when you consider the size of our workforce. Don't be left out! For more information, call 255-6475, extension 50730 or 50723, and a form will be provided to you. You can also email firstname.lastname@example.org
3. LIKE our Facebook Page and tell us what you are working on! We love feedback on your programs, mini-grant projects, suggestions, ideas and anything else you would like to share. Most importantly, you will receive information on dates, deadlines, and special events in which you can participate. Take Stock in Children
Students give many thanks to the Take Stock in Children Program for Volusia County. Listen to what Jackie Caro and recent Taylor High School graduate had to say, "Please know that you have lifted an immense burden off my shoulders. Upon entering the University of Florida, I will have one less concern thanks to your kindness and generosity". "You have made an impact towards my education and I don't think words alone are even enough to encompass how truly appreciative I am towards you."
Another success is Alex Sanchez who just recently graduated from Stetson University. Alex was born in Puerto Rico and is a first generation college student, earning a degree in elementary education with a minor in psychology. A true leader with passion for community involvement, education and the success of our youth, he recently signed a contract with Volusia County Schools and will begin in his teaching career right here at home in Volusia County. Giving back to the community that supported him!
