2010 Bowl-A-Thon - February 20 & 21 and
March 13 & 14, 2010

The seventeenth annual Bowl-A-Thon to benefit FUTURES Foundation for Volusia County Schools will take place February 20, 21 and March 13, 14, 2010. Fifty-three Volusia County schools are signed up to bowl for bucks along with members of local area businesses. Last year $20,000 was raised through this event which benefited participating schools and FUTURES Foundation for Volusia County Schools.

FUTURES Bowl-A-Thon is an easy and fun way for schools to earn money. Fifty percent of the funds raised are returned directly to participating schools.

The following schools will participate in the 2010 Bowl-A-Thon:
Atlantic High School, Blue Lake Elementary, Campbell Middle, Champion Elementary, Creekside Middle, Cypress Creek Elementary, DeBary Elementary, DeLand Middle, Deltona High, Deltona Lakes Elementary, Deltona Middle School, Discovery Elementary, Edgewater Public, Enterprise Elementary, Forest Lake Elementary, Freedom Elementary, Galaxy Middle, George Marks Elementary, Indian River Elementary, Longstreet Elementary, Mainland High, McInnis Elementary, New Smyrna Beach High, New Smyrna Beach Middle, Orange City Elementary,Ormond Beach Elementary, Ormond Beach Middle, Osceola Elementary, Osteen Elementary, Palm Terrace Elementary,Pierson Elementary, Pathways Elementary, Pine Trail Elementary, Pride Elementary, Read-Pattillo Elementary, Riverview Learning Center, Seabreeze High, Silver Sands Middle, South Daytona Elementary, Southwestern Middle, Spirit Elementary, Spruce Creek Elementary, Spruce Creek High, Starke Elementary, Sugar Mill Elementary, Sweetwater Elementary, Taylor Middle-High, Tomoka Elementary, Turie T. Small Elementary, Volusia Pines Elementary, Westside Elementary, and Woodward Elementary.

Bank of America, Cobb & Cole, Florida Capital Bank, Florida Health Care Plans, Giles Electric Co., Inc., Reunion Bank, The Daytona News Journal, University of Central Florida, USTA, and Write Result.

FUTURES Foundation is a nonprofit direct funding organization founded in 1985 to support Volusia County Schools. FUTURES Board of Directors consists of community and civic leaders who raise funds for motivational and recognition activities for students and staff. FUTURES has received state and national recognition for its business partnerships in Florida.

Get your ticket to Wii Bowl for Education

Your $5 donation gives you entry into Wii Bowl for Education and a chance to win a Wii game consule and gift certificates for Sam's Club. Wii Bowl will be held Feb. 27, 28 and March 6, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Sam's Club, 1175 Beville Rd., Daytona Beach.

Official Rules:
Need not be present to win - no remittance required - void where prohibited. Prizes must be claimed either at Sam's Club of Daytona Beach at 5:00 p.m. on March 6, 2010 or at 3750 Olson Drive, Daytona Beach, FL 32124 during regular business hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday (386) 255-6475 extension 50730.

The holder of the winning FUTURES Wii Bowl Ticket (The "Ticket") is required to notify the FUTURES Foundation at the above address within 60 days after the date of the drawing to claim the prize. The FUTURES Foundation covenants to attempt to contact the person identified on the ticket at the address and with the information on the ticket and to take such other reasonable efforts to locate the holder of the ticket. Upon the holder's breach of the foregoing obligation, FUTURES will award the grand prize, the Wii game system, to the second place winner. The FUTURES Foundation makes no representation about the condition of the Wii game system and the Wii game system is awarded in "as is" condition.

2009 Bowl-A-Thon: FUTURES Board members, businesses and friends of education joined with teachers, administrators and parents of fifty-five schools to raise $32,279.45 by bowling. This included $8,497.95 raised by businesses, $1,400 raised by District employees and $23,782 raised by schools. Bowlers gathered pledges from sponsors and had a great time! FUTURES presented "Spirit Banners" to the elementary & secondary schools that raised the most money per student population.

2009 Elementary Spirit Banner recipient is Sweetwater Elementary School.

2009 Secondary Spirit Banner recipient is Southwestern Middle School.
