Teacher of the Year 2015
Dear FUTURES Supporter,
DAYTONA Beach - Grace Kellermeier, French teacher and coach from New Smyrna Beach High, is Volusia County Schools' Teacher of the Year 2015.
The announcement was made on February 28th at the Teacher of the Year banquet presented by Halifax Health, and co-hosted by FUTURES Foundation and the School Board of Volusia County. The celebration was attended by over 900 friends of public education.
"We are so proud of our teachers here in Volusia County, and we love to take any opportunity we can to highlight how amazing they are," said Sam Willett, FUTURES President. "Our board feels very strongly that our teachers need to be praised, validated and celebrated as an incredible group of professionals."
Major sponsors of the Teacher of the Year banquet included Presenting Sponsor Halifax Health, Bank of America, Daytona Beach Car Shows, Bright House Networks, Florida Power & Light, University of Central Florida, Fred & Linda Costello, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, Intracoastal Bank and Volusia County Council PTA's.
More than 75 businesses and organizations in Volusia County also contributed donations of goods and services to Volusia's Teacher of the Year program.

Teacher of the Year nominees were honored at a reception by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on February 15th.
FUTURES Tomorrow's Leaders enjoyed their experiences at the fourth seminar, Leadership, Diversity, and Ethics. Leadership Training-Maximizing your potential as part of a team, embracing your own diversity & participating in the development of others, developing civic responsibility & awareness, considering ethics in professional and personal circumstances.

Volusia County Schools Student Transportation Services creates "The Mobile Safety City". An education facility that features a child-sized miniature town with buildings, streets, crosswalks, traffic lights, railroad crossing and other related community features. This program was designed for elementary aged students K-5 to learn bicycle safety, bus safety, pedestrian safety, traffic safety, traffic signs and lights.

The Caribbean Party is always a fun, casual evening for supporters of Volusia County Schools to gather, celebrate and enjoy fine food and drink.

WET 'N WILD ORLANDO ANNOUNCES NEW HIGH-SPEED ATTRACTION FOR SUMMER 2014 Aqua Drag Racer Will be the Tallest and Fastest of its Kind in Florida
A high-speed race awaits guests this summer when Wet 'n Wild Orlando opens Florida's tallest and fastest water-based racing attraction of its kind. The Aqua Drag Racer will be six stories tall and propel guests through four lanes of head-to-head competition at fifteen feet per-second before splashing them across the finish line.
Guests will take their mark, get ready for a full throttle adrenaline rush and then power through enclosed braided, twisting tunnels as they accelerate into four parallel racing lanes.
