Volusia County School Students Receive FUTURES Turn-Around Awards

DAYTONA BEACH - Middle and high students from Volusia County Public Schools who have made significant improvements in grades, attitude and/or behavior will be honored on Wednesday, May 23, at the FUTURES Foundation Turn-Around Celebration. Seventy-six students will receive Turn-Around awards at 6:00 p.m. at the Jackie Robinson ballpark in Daytona Beach. FUTURES Foundation is the only organization in the county to support all Volusia County public schools.
As part of the Turn-Around program, students were nominated for the award by their principals with input from teachers and guidance counselors. Based on written recommendations, a committee established by FUTURES, reviewed the nominations and selected one student from each grade level for formal recognition. Each student will receive a certificate and his/her name will be engraved on their school plaque.
