FUTURES Foundation Elects Jessica Eckelbarger to its Board
FUTURES Foundation for Volusia County Schools recently elected area business leader Jessica Eckelbarger to its Board of Directors. Ms. Eckelbarger, Senior Marketing Director for Rue & Ziffra, previously served as a member of the Junior League of Daytona Beach and Children’s Home Society as well as a Board Member of WORC in Daytona Beach. She was named Top 40 Under 40 in 2013, 2015 and 2016 by the Volusia/Flagler Business Report and was a 2013 recipient of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award from President Barack Obama for volunteering more than 1,000 hours to help local veterans, Rolling Thunder Chapter 8. A graduate of Atlantic High School and the Rinker School of Business at Palm Beach Atlantic University, Ms. Eckelbarger resides in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
FUTURES Foundation is a nonprofit, direct support organization founded in 1985 to support Volusia County Schools. Its mission is to engage business and civic leaders to promote and achieve educational excellence for Volusia County Public Schools. The Foundation’s 32-member board of directors consists of area business and civic leaders who direct and raise funds to facilitate a variety of programs in the school district. FUTURES facilitates the Volusia Take Stock in Children Program which offers scholarships, mentors and hope to at-risk, low income high school students. FUTURES also funds teacher classroom mini-grants through its www.FindItFundItFundFlorida.com/Volusia portal and recently awarded more than $111,000 to 140 local classroom/school projects. FUTURES administers the legislatively funded School District Education Foundation State Matching Grants Program which will infuse more than $82,000 into 15 projects within 14 Volusia County Schools this year. The Foundation also offers student and staff recognition programs and Tomorrow’s Leaders, a high school junior student leadership development program.
