FUTURES Foundation Elects 3 new Board Members

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – FUTURES Foundation for Volusia County Schools recently elected area business leaders Linda Webster-Dubea, Timothy Huth and Lorraine “Lorri” Crisci Ryan, M.D., to its Board of Directors. 

Ms. Webster-Dubea is the new External Affairs Manager at Florida Power & Light Company. Moving from Brevard County to Volusia to assume this position, she has more than 20 years of executive experience.

Mr. Huth, an Education Consultant, serves as Chairman of the Checkered Flag Committee. Prior to his retirement from the Volusia County School District, he served as Deputy Superintendent and has received numerous awards and recognitions during his tenure. He resides in Ormond Beach, FL.

Dr. Ryan is an anesthesiologist with Volusia Anesthesiology Associates and served as a Take Stock in Children mentor for four years. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at Florida State University’s College of Medicine - Daytona Campus and resides in Port Orange, FL.

FUTURES Foundation is a nonprofit, direct support organization founded in 1985 to support Volusia County Schools. Its mission is to engage business and civic leaders to promote and achieve educational excellence for Volusia County Public Schools.  The Foundation’s 32-member board of directors consists of area business and civic leaders who direct and raise funds to facilitate a variety of programs in the school district. FUTURES facilitates the Volusia Take Stock in Children Program which offers scholarships, mentors and hope to at-risk, low income high school students. FUTURES also funds teacher classroom mini-grants for innovative, creative classroom/school projects.  FUTURES administers the legislatively funded School District Education Foundation State Matching Grants Program which will infuse more than $82,000 into 15 projects within 12 Volusia County Schools this year. The Foundation also offers student and staff recognition programs and Tomorrow’s Leaders, a high school junior student leadership development program.
